Album Notes

Fully Functional is the 2nd CD released by Secret Aging Men, and it's the groups first foray into experimental structured improvisations. The CD sound is good but remains a stepping stone to better future sonics on SAM recordings. However the material on the CD shows great chemistry developing between the players, making these mostly on-the-fly jam tracks worth checking out.

Fully Functional has 12 tracks ranging in intensity from slow time-bending laments to fast, frantic, and raw jamming . . . all with a flair for the exotic! Progressive drumming, torqued bass, piano, synth keyboards, guitar, and guitar synth flutes, saxes, strings, combine for a crazed wall-of-sound at times, but lush and soft at others. Four players, live, no overdubs. Departure has several FX overdubs.
